River Road Project
This fabulous young couple contacted me because they wanted to add some finishing touches to their newly built custom home.
They have magnificent vaulted ceilings and a fireplace that is over 18’ high so I had a beautiful space to work within right from the start.
They were looking for suggestions and idea’s on how to make the house a home and were also looking for additional storage.
The first thing we tackled was their main entrance. We added some amazing wallpaper that adds lots of drama and is just perfect for greeting family and friends. I think this Buffalo Check by Magnolia Home Wallcoverings is perfectly casual, warm and inviting.
Up next was storage. This family has 2 small children so we needed a place for toys, books and media storage all while allowing pretty things to also be displayed. I created a concept and design style for built in’s to flank either side of their fireplace and Canadian Woodwork built and implemented them with absolute perfection. I selected the colour Escarpment by Benjamin Moore for the units; to work alongside the new wallpaper and it was a match made in heaven.
The x detail on the doors is one of my favourite features and once styled, they provide so much interest and beauty to the space all while being super functional. They are the perfect addition to their room and I’m sure they’ll enjoy them for many years to come.
