There’s no denying it, traditional design is making a return.
Wallpaper. Pleated lampshades. Rich wood tones. Pattern. Colour. Decorative millwork. These are all details we’re seeing reappear in beautifully designed homes, and I couldn’t be happier.
But this isn’t about recreating the homes we grew up in.
It’s about bringing forward the best parts of traditional design and reimagining them for the way we live today.
For years, interiors leaned toward minimalism. White walls, pared-back finishes, and clean lines dominated the design world. While there is certainly beauty in simplicity, many homeowners are now looking for something more. They want homes with warmth, depth, and a sense of permanence rather than spaces designed around the latest trend.
Perhaps we're all craving homes that feel more lived in, more welcoming, and a little less concerned with perfection. Spaces that tell a story, evolve over time, and reflect the lives unfolding within them.
And that is exactly why traditional design is resonating once again.

What I find most exciting about the return of traditional design isn't the wallpaper or the pleated lampshades.
It's what they represent.
We're seeing a renewed appreciation for craftsmanship, architectural detail, natural materials, and quality that stands the test of time.
It's a shift away from designing rooms that feel finished in a single day and toward homes that feel as though they've evolved over time.
The focus is no longer on following one particular style. Instead, it's about creating spaces with depth, balance, and individuality.
The result is a home that feels welcoming, comfortable, and rich with character.

If you've followed my work for any length of time, you'll know I've always been drawn to traditional design, particularly English-inspired interiors. I love the richness, the layers, the beautiful craftsmanship, and the feeling that every piece has purpose.
But that doesn't mean every home I design should look the same.
One of the biggest misconceptions about hiring an interior designer is that you'll end up with their style instead of your own.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
My role isn't to recreate the home I would live in. It's to understand how my clients want to live and what they want their home to offer them every day.
Some are drawn to classic details. Others prefer a cleaner, more contemporary aesthetic. Most fall somewhere in between.
The best homes aren't built around a particular style.
They're built around the people who live there.

The reason traditional design feels so relevant today isn't because it's fashionable.
It's because it reminds us that good design has never been about chasing trends.
The homes that leave a lasting impression are the ones with architectural character, quality materials, beautiful proportions, and details that feel intentional.
They don't demand attention.
They invite you in.
Whether a home leans traditional, contemporary, or somewhere in between matters far less than whether it feels authentic and welcoming.
That's always the goal.
Because long after today's trends have come and gone, the homes people continue to love are the ones designed with care, crafted with quality, and created to support the way they live.
