Weekly Design Inspiration: Front Doors

Front doors. They’re the first thing you see when you get home, and the last thing you see when you leave. They are not only the first impression to visitors and guests, but they are also a sign to remind you that you’re finally home.

I’ve been working on the perfect front door for a client for a few weeks now - a lot of back and forth with the company who is custom building the door and boy oh boy, it’s going to be amazing!! I can’t wait to share the finished product with you.

So, because I’ve been so focused on doors, I thought I would share some front door inspirations with you.

Colour

Colour is such a fun and easy way to personalise your home. Not to mention, makes your day a little brighter, especially after a long day or in the dead of winter!

Want something classic and timeless? Black is a great option for a simple yet statement making front door, and it provides a great backdrop for a fabulous wreath! Better yet, black works with many styles and colours of homes.

Wood

Wood entry doors add warmth and distinction. You could opt for a solid door or add glass to allow more natural light into your foyer.

This beautiful warm double wood front door keeps everything from feeling too stark and cold. It’s just so good.

 Steel or Metal Doors

Strength and timeless beauty are what I think of when I think of these doors.

Steel doors and windows have taken the design world by storm and for good reason!! They’re sleek, they’re gorgeous and they let in lots of natural light!!

Although you often see them in modern homes - fear not. They are equally usable for a traditional home.
